Pre-sea training
at the Technical Education School for Industrial
Installations in Patras, and simultaneously
gaining work experience at Panatsopoulos
Workshop, engaged on machine tools and ships
& engine repairs.
He then went on to
complete the Pythagoras Marine Engineering
School in Piraeus. Sea-service from 1969
to 1975 with Kambanis Company, Mamidakis
Tankers, Hellenic Lines and Delpa Maritime
from Apprentice to Second Engineer.
He served on Karageorgis
lines between 1975 to 1991 where he received
his Chief Engineer's Certificate. Thereafter,
he completed his experience at sea after
a year with Regency Cruises acting as Chief
Engineer and International Reefer Services,
whereafter he was employed as a Marine Engineer
with Chandris Shipyard, Before joining Overseas
Maritime.
Andreas is our Patras
correspondent, he has recently travelled
to Spain to investigate a fire on a passenger
liner's turbo alternator, to Albanian waters
for a grounded passenger ship and to Bulgaria
for the Bahamas Maritime Authority. He is
also our resident refrigeration specialist.
